Okay Tiryakioğlu was born in 1972 in Mersin. He spent his childhood in Erenköy, Istanbul. The mysterious and black humor books that his mother gave him triggered his first excitement for literature. In 1994 he discontinued his education at Bilkent University and headed towards literature. He always wanted to live abroad, in faraway and mysterious countries. He still lives in these countries and has accepted his life of solitude surrounded by books. Tiryakioülu feels that reading is the only determining factor in his life, so he has dedicated his life to books.
