Haluk Dursun
Haluk Dursun was born in 1957 in Hereke. After primary school, he went to İstanbul in 1968 to continue his education at Galatasaray High School. He graduated from the Faculty of Letters at Istanbul University, majoring in Turkish Republic and Contemporary History. He earned his master’s degree from the social sciences institute at Marmara University with his thesis ‘understanding the State in Islamic Public Law’ His doctoral degree saw the publication of his thesis ‘The Ottoman-English rivlary in the Middle East During the Abdülhamit II Period – the Akabe Issue’, also from Marmara University. He is currently working in the Atatürk education faculty at Marmara University, where he has been since 1982. He is also currently the manager of the Hagia Sophia.
