People hold the opinions and ideas which they hold because of the things that have happened to them in their lives. It is virtually impossible to separate ones ideas from ones experiences. Countries work the same way. A country, across its history, goes through a number of experiences just the way a person has life experiences, and from the countries history comes its tendancy to sympathize with certain ideas and thought structures. To understand a country, you have to understand their experiences and where the ideas come from, and this text offers that understanding regarding Turkey.
